The Video Oral History Project was launched in 2003. Sending professional camera crews into the homes of musicians coast to coast,
with expert interviewers eliciting the histories and stories of our bluegrass elders.
We were pleased to have them recently interview
Herschel at his home for this project. To be considered as one of "Bluegrass Music's Pioneering Generation -- those who created and
shaped the bluegrass genre and who took it to lands far and wide, eventually establishing audiences for bluegrass music all around
the world" is a great honor.
You may even be able to help! They are always looking for stories, artifacts and recordings of bluegrass
music’s first generation. Please visit their site for more information on this project and other exciting news about the museum. http://www.bluegrass-museum.org/general/home.php
I want to thank everyone for a
great week; meeting new friends and seeing old ones. A great deal of talent was there this year and I was grateful to be part
of that. Photos are now on our website, so be sure to look before you go!
The music's in his head, drive in his heart, and bluegrass in his soul.
